In order to evaluate and transfer credit for the work that you have already completed at another regionally accredited college or university, we need your help.
Official Transcripts
You will need to submit official transcripts as part of your application by the transfer application deadlines. This will help us with your review for admission and if you are admitted, it will help us provide you with an initial transfer credit evaluation.
You should submit your application and official transcripts as soon as possible in order to allow enough time for schedule planning. If you are currently enrolled in classes, please submit a transcript showing both courses you have already taken and those you are currently taking. Once your final grades have posted, please send us a final official transcript by the deadlines below. For submission instructions, visit our contact page.
- Applicants for fall should submit final transcripts by July 1
- Applicants for spring should submit final transcripts by January 4

- If you are a current Tulane student who wishes to take courses at another college or university for credit towards your degree, you will need to meet with to begin the process.
Courses Taken While in College
Only courses completed at a regionally accredited college or university, with a grade of C or better, will be considered for transfer credit. We do not transfer pass/fail courses. Courses are evaluated after an applicant has been admitted and cannot be reviewed prior to admission. When your transfer credit evaluation is complete, you will receive a status update email at the email address you used when you submitted your transfer application to Tulane. Credit for First-Year Writing Courses
Transfer students may satisfy Tulane鈥檚 first-year writing requirement if the course(s) are determined to be equivalent to ENGL 1010 at Tulane. If you receive liberal arts credit for a first-year writing course and not ENGL 1010, you have not satisfied the first-year writing requirement. You may appeal by submitting a course syllabus for reevaluation. Courses that transfer as ENGL 1010 must have required at least 30 pages of writing with revisions after instructor evaluation. They should have covered argument, analysis, research, and exposition.
Credit for Business Courses
The A.B. Freeman School of Business only considers transfer credit from schools that are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) or community colleges that have articulation agreements with an AACSB-accredited school, and for courses in which a C or above has been earned. Credit for Architecture Courses
The School of Architecture only considers transfer credit from schools that are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or community colleges that have articulation agreements with an NAAB-accredited school, and in courses in which a C or above has been earned. International University Transfer Credit
If you have taken courses at an international university, your transcript must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) to be reviewed for transfer credit. This includes credits you may have earned through British-Levels or the French BaccalaureateYou can contact WES at .
Credit Expiration
At the time of readmission, any credit earned at Tulane more than ten years previously would not apply toward the degree. While the credits may be more than ten years old by the time the student completes the Tulane degree, they would still count toward the degree so long as the student had remained continuously enrolled at Tulane. Departments and schools may apply more restrictive rules in evaluating credits to be applied toward a major or professional degree. Visit for more information.
Transfer Credit Expiration
No credit earned at another college or university more than ten years previously may be applied to an undergraduate degree at Tulane. This rule would apply to the date when the credit is evaluated. While the credits may be more than ten years old by the time the student completes the Tulane degree, they would still count toward the degree so long as the student had remained continuously enrolled at Tulane.
College Courses Taken While in High School

AP and IB Exam Credit
